LOST PETS
We feel very strongly about owners being able to identify their pet if he or she becomes lost.  Area shelters and veterinarian offices have equipment to read microchips. While there are several microchipping tracking services out there, we happen to be members of
Home Again.  If your pet is lost or missing and is turned into a shelter, an animal control office or to a vet and they are microchipped, you have a much better chance of having your pet returned to you than if they are not chipped.

We highly recommend microchipping as a means to identify your pet if they are lost or missing.  Please think about it...General cost for the chip is about $30.  Annual fee to register the chip with a tracking service is between $15 and $25 or so.  A small price to pay to help you get your pet home safely.

Additionally, they offer a service that sends an email alert to area pet owners asking for help in locating lost pets in your area.  We subscribe and I am posting those pets to our website to help increase the chance that they may be found and returned safely to their owners.

HAPPY TAILS
Here we get to tell you about our success in returning pets to their owners and homes. This is the good stuff!

Lucky Leo

Leo actually chose our own front porch as his landing site when he wandered away from home.  We noticed he had been hanging around for a day or so and then one night, there he was in a wooden box we have on our porch waiting for someone to help him out. He clearly was lost and his tags said he came all the way from Whitman. He was hungry and he was very thirsty.  We fed him some tuna fish and gave him some water and set about finding his home.

After a two days of inquiry, because his tags did not reflect his new address, we found his family.  They were right here in Hanson. Their two kids, and especially mom, were happy to have their all star kitty Leo back home.  Leo was a pleasant guest and a very good kitty.  We know why he was missed so much! We're glad you are home, Leo.
