PUPPY 101 ~ A LITTLE HELP AS YOU GET STARTED
Being a new owner can bring a host of questions on....what do I feed my puppy, and how often?, How frequently do they need to go out?, when should they go to the vet for a check up?, should I begin training right away? How do I house break my new puppy?
Yes, we know it can be a very stressful time. For many people they feel getting a puppy is not altogether different from having a baby in many ways. A puppy is completely dependent on you for so many things. We are happy to consult with you and provide a little 'Puppy 101'. Whether you are just looking or have already brought your new family member home, we are happy to help out as much or a little as you need. Sometimes a little reassurance that having a puppy means what you think it does....you had one before but it's been a number of years since that time. Sometimes you need the whole shebang....help with schedules and training and housebreaking.
Our 'Puppy 101' consult lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. We will come to you and we will provide you with some important pointers. We have a special Puppy Package that we share at that time to aid you with your new best friend's arrival. We can talk about your preparing your home for your pup, crate training, housebreaking, behavior of family members and how to keep everyone organized. We can also discuss any questions you may have about potty breaks and dog walks. With puppies the best way to start good habits is with some education (for you and your pup) and consistency and repetition.
